A Veteran for Bob McDonnell

I enjoyed going to the Veterans for Bob McDonnell rally last night at the Army-Navy Country Club in Alexandria. His daughter Jeanine was there, as well as his father-in-law, who is a Marine veteran of Okinawa and Iwo Jima. There were also several Admirals, Generals, and John McCain's brother Joe in attendance.

It was a fun opportunity to see Bob and hear his passionate drive for the Constitution, lower taxes, stronger defense, more energy, and less waste in government. The overriding theme was aimed at veterans, but this candidate would be good for all Virginians.

My Son is Six Years Old

It seems like just yesterday that Katherine and I went for a run/walk (she would walk her 9-month pregnant body around a 4-mile loop, while I ran the other direction), when her water broke. I was on the other side of the loop while she tried to figure out what to do. She went to the neighborhood park and asked the first person she saw for advice. The woman said, "hop in, I am a labor and delivery nurse!" She took Katherine back to the house and I soon arrived. We went to the hospital at around 8:30 PM and started to get ready for our life-changing moment.

Thomas was born at 2:30 AM on Oct 1, 2003, and our life has gotten better every day since then. Six years of fun -- looking forward to sixty more!
